		<description>I agree wholeheartedly that people cannot afford to be picky, especially if you are only looking for part time work to supplement your current full time salary. Part time work, traditionally, is in the retail or food service sector, and even though applicants may have more relevant experience and the necessary skills, there is always going to be competition from applicants who are much younger and far cheaper to employ. It is often more cost effective for a business to hire inexperienced teenagers and train them, rather than an adult who requires little to no training. It is important to know how to market yourself and your skills effectively, to prove to potential employers that paying the extra money will be worth their while.

Hopefully the increase in job ads placed in Sydney will be the  stimulus Illawarra businesses need to boost their confidence in the market and start advertising their vacancies.</description>
